According to Kaniyar Saei (Kanisa) Public Relations, steel cord conveyor belts are strategic products for Iran’s mining industries. They are not currently manufactured domestically, and importing them costs the country millions of dollars annually. The shareholders—Mines and Metals Development Investment Company, Sangan Steel, Tuka Foolad and Tajali—under IMIDRO’s direction and following the Supreme Leader’s guidance on boosting production and employment, have undertaken to establish a major industrial facility in a region previously without industrial projects. Construction of the Aleshtar steel cord and textile-reinforced conveyor belt plant is a major industrial development in a region whose appearance had been clouded by deprivation and unemployment among talented young people. With studies and implementation starting, and all sustainable-development factors—particularly environmental considerations—taken into account, industrial activity has brought renewed hope to Aleshtar and its people and a brighter future for the region’s talented children. The Aleshtar steel cord and textile-reinforced conveyor belt plant project is planned to produce 4,000 tonnes of conveyor belts with funding of 1,200 billion tomans. Once operational, the factory will meet steel and mining plants’ requirements and save more than USD 10 million in foreign currency annually, supporting better production, exports and further employment. The project will create 500 direct and indirect jobs, representing a historic change for the region. Following selection of the contractor for this major project, civil and building works are expected to begin soon. Machinery installation and the transfer of knowledge and equipment will follow, marking a firm step towards the government’s and state’s commitment to relieving deprivation across Islamic Iran. Public Relations reports that at noon today, Wednesday, 12 Ordibehesht 1403 (Solar Hijri), the Aleshtar plant construction contract was formally signed in the presence of Kaniyar Saei’s CEO and board members and the CEOs of the Foolad Gostaresh Industries–Faratahghigh Sepahan partnership, the project contractor.
